Curtin: Bio-enhanced Native Seaweed Solution to Chronic Inflammation

Inflammation is linked to a number of long-term health problems for one in two Australians, including IBS, heart disease and chronic illness.

Commercial supplements and medications are prescribed to manage symptoms, but a solution that gets to the root of the problem is desperately needed.

Introducing Sea Soothe, a first of its kind health product developed by Joel Wyndhorst and Alexis Chung, founders of Organic Ocean and recent graduates of Curtin accelerate.

Unlike heavily processed peels and powders, Sea Soothe is a functional food source, which acts quickly to deliver its anti-inflammatory benefits to the body's digestive system without causing discomfort at its core is a powerful scientific breakthrough combining land-based aquaculture pioneered in Western Australia with a unique bioprocessing method.

The team have created a highly absorbable liquid seaweed with more available bioactive compounds than standard processing.

Because of its high concentration of pre-digested bioactive compounds, Sea Soothe can target the drivers of bodily inflammation at their source.

With over seven years of research, two PhDs, and the skills acquired from their Curtin accelerate experience, the team are now preparing Sea Soothe for its first market launch.
